SPORT
Sport is a fundamental part of life at Farlington, where students develop leadership, teamwork and resilience through playing a variety of sports. Farlington's dedicated Sports Department, headed up by Director of Sport Mr Simon Faulkner, work tirelessly to ensure that all students enjoy participating in sport, and develop a lifelong love of exercise.
Whilst inclusivity and 'participation for all' are at the heart of our sports offering, we also provide opportunities for pupils to excel and reach their full potential in their chosen sport(s).
The majority of sports are available as part of our varied curriculum, and as competitive teams and squads. Our curriculum is also complemented by an extensive extra-curricular programme, with a wide range of sporting options to choose from.
During the Summer Term, students of all ages take part in our much-anticipated Sports Days. These exciting events provide a wonderful opportunity for our Farlington community to come together and celebrate our love of sport – the students are certainly spurred on by seeing their families cheering from the sidelines!
Our fantastic sports facilities include a full-sized all-weather Astroturf pitch, a large sports hall, and tennis and netball courts.
We are very proud to offer a wide range of sports at Farlington, including the following:

Fixtures
Farlington students from Year 3 upwards participate in regular fixtures, competing against local schools. Years 3 and 4 enjoy fixtures on a Thursday; Years 5 to 8 on a Wednesday; and Years 9 to 13 on a Tuesday.
Mr Faulkner and our PE teachers compile a dedicated monthly Sports Bulletin, which includes reports on all the fixtures that have taken place that month, together with updates on our House sports competitions and any special achievements that may have been attained by students outside of school. The monthly Sports Bulletin can be seen in the 'News' section of our SOCS sports website: https://sport.farlingtonschool.com/.
