RECEPTION AT FARLINGTON: SMALL CLASSES, BIG OPPORTUNITIES

Reception pupils at Farlington School in Horsham, West Sussex, enjoy endless opportunities, from tennis and Forest School to swimming and French

Starting school is undoubtedly a major milestone for both parents and children, but it doesn't need to be a nerve-racking experience. With small classes, a wonderfully warm community, and endless opportunities from day one, Reception at Farlington is the ideal place for children to begin their educational journey – and at £2,594 per term, it's more affordable than you might think.

A perfect setting

At Farlington, we do everything we can to make sure that every child's first experience of 'big school' is a positive one.

  • Class sizes in Reception, as in the rest of the Lower School, are small. This means that your child's teacher will quickly and easily get to know every single pupil in their care.
  • Time in the Reception classroom is calm, purposeful and supportive. Individual successes are keenly celebrated, and each child is encouraged to achieve their personal best and discover their strengths in different areas of school life, especially those that they might at first find more challenging.
  • Both pupils and teachers at Farlington approach life positively, finding interest and enjoyment within every lesson.
  • We encourage initiative and healthy competition, enabling pupils to resolve disputes for themselves, perform with confidence and help one another whenever they can.

Enriching experiences

Of course, learning doesn't only happen in the classroom, which is why from the word go Reception pupils at Farlington have the chance to participate in a myriad of activities. Opportunities abound, with specialist music, sport and language teachers (Reception pupils learn French from the very start of their time at Farlington), weekly swimming lessons for all, and a fantastic on-site Forest School area  to which Reception pupils have access throughout the year, come rain or shine.
