ISA Success for Farlington Students

Our athletics teams have enjoyed continued success this term, across all sections of the school, with many of our students qualifying for the ISA Regional finals.

In the Lower School, Penelope came 3rd in the ball throw competition, whilst Lennox qualified for the final in the 60m sprint. Coming from behind, he managed to achieve a bronze medal, dipping on the line. Bella qualified for the 60m final but was unable to secure a medal however finished second in her other event, the Long Jump!

The Middle School team had a number of athletes qualify for finals with Annabel (High Jump), Raff (Ball Throw) and Darcy (150m) all bringing home bronze medals.

Some close finishes meant that Lauren C (Shot Put) and Darcy (Long Jump) finished with silver medals and both the Year 5 boys and girls 4 x 100m relay teams just missed out on national finals qualification with the boys 2nd by just 0.2 seconds! Tilly also finished 2nd in the 600m event which meant that she qualified for the national finals.

Farlington managed to qualify three athletes for the ISA National finals Ellie (Ball Throw), Bailey (75m) and Tilly (75m) all of whom performed brilliantly in their finals.

Farlington also took a number of older athletes to the ISA regional qualifiers in Bromley with hopes of qualifying individual athletes for the national finals. After some tight finishes and nervous waits we were delighted to learn that five of our athletes qualified for national finals in seven events.

Mog (Hurdles & 200m), Raff (Shot Put & Discus), Scarlett (Hurdles), Grace (Javelin) and Evie (1500m) all qualified after winning their respective events and can now look forward to competing in the ISA National Finals held at Alexander Stadium in Birmingham on 17th June. This is a phenomenal achievement by all involved, especially considering Farlington’s size.
