Having not had the opportunity to enjoy many of the rites of passage which would typically mark the end of Year 11, the achievements of our Year 11 cohort of students are all the more deserved and celebrated this year.

Of course, today was not a results day like any other; instead of examination results, Farlington staff followed Ofqual’s guidance in order to produce Centre Assessed Grades that are a fair and rigorous evaluation of the performance of each individual student.

“I am delighted that, after all the uncertainties of the last few days and weeks, the GCSE grades awarded to our Year 11 students are an accurate reflection of the hard work and commitment they have displayed, not just in the last six months, but in their five years in the Senior School," says Headmistress Louise Higson.

"We obviously would have preferred for all students to have been able to sit formal examinations to be able to showcase what they have learnt, but this does not detract from their achievement. All the staff are incredibly proud of this group of students and we wish them all the best as they move into the Sixth Form."

"I am also immensely grateful to all Farlington parents who have supported the school throughout the recent challenges, and I am very much looking forward to welcoming all students back to school in September.”
