The Prep 1 children have been learning about food and farming this term, so on Wednesday, 9 June they took a trip to Bocketts Farm Park to find out all about how a farm works and what kind of things happen there day to day.

Farmer Leah guided the class around the farm, where the children were able to see, touch and smell lots of different animals, such as pigs, horses and sheep. Their favourite activity was feeding the sheep and baby lambs. The students also took a tractor ride around the whole farm, to really see it in action. There was an allotment full of fruits and vegetables too, and the children were able to find out about the different types of plants and what they need to grow.

The pupils visited some of the smaller animals too, such as rabbits and chicks, and had the opportunity to stroke them, then enjoyed some free time in the adventure playground and on the big slides and climbing areas. It was a fabulous day out and as soon as they left, the children were asking to go back again!
