Weekend fun for our boarders
BackOn Saturday, 4th September, the boarders took part in a team-building day on the South Lawn. The group was split into three teams: Team 1 (Years 6-9); Team 2 (Year 10) and Team 3 (Year 11 and Sixth Form), and each team had 15 tasks to complete. One of the students' favourite tasks involved being put into pairs, with one student blindfolded and having to navigate an obstacle course, and the other helping their partner find their way. The catch? No directional words were allowed! Another favourite was the rocket task: each team had a rocket, around which there was a perimeter that they couldn't enter. Students then had to fill the rocket up with water to retrieve a water bottle and 'deactivate the rocket'. This was by far the hardest task, but well done to Team 3 who managed to complete it in the fastest time, using the bucket and pipe to create a flow of water to pour into the rocket, and then the rope to grab the bottle.
More fun followed the weekend after, with a trip into Horsham to do lots of shopping, have lunch out and visit Horsham Park, and on Saturday, 18th September, the younger boarders hit the beach! Miss Leak took them to Ferring for the day, where they spent time collecting shells on the beach, playing badminton and volleyball, and (of course) enjoying an ice cream.
